Armagnac – Larressingle XO – tasting

As in case of the previous armagnac the Web is not full of detailed information about this bottle. Even the manufacturer’s website does not help much. The producer of Larressingle XO is a family company Armagnacs Larressingle founded in 1837. That’s all when it comes to official website. Thus, after searching the Web for a while I was able to determine thaht Larressingle XO is a blend of Bas Armagnac and Tenaraze distillates. Some sources say that blends used in this armagnac are from 15 to 20yo, while less optimistic says 10 to 12yo.
Label.

Disadvantage of this armagnac, in my opinion, is lack of any specific information on the bottle label. We know that it is an XO armagnac which indicates it has minimum 10 years. Perhaps more information was included on the packaging. However, we would not see any packagings at a bar where I tasted it. Comparing to Baron de Castelneau the label simply does not tell the consumer anything.
It’s a pity because … It is really good armagnac !
Tasting.

The aroma is volatile, pleasant, sweet, dessert and a bit alcoholic.
Nose: vanilla, raisins, toffee, after a while dried apricots and oak.
Mouth: dried fruits in foreground, mainly figs, vanilla, after a moment some walnuts, sweetness is transforming into dry.
Finish: long, first peppery, tannin comes later, earthy, tea amd tobacco.
I give this armagnac 6,5/10. The tasting was pure pleasure.
Warsaw armagnac map.
It is not without a reason I named my blog “barmaniac”. The word-play refers to both armagnasc and bars in which I would like to taste armagnacs. This is how the Warsaw armagnac map will be created. The first location is the “Jp’S” bar located on the ground floor of Westin Warsaw hotel. There was only one available armagnac which I tasted and described in this entry.
